Girl & Bear About Town!

Posted by Elizabeth on June 23, 2012 at 1:55 AM

Liz O & Boppity Bear, on our way home from Trickster's Door #7, where we hosted a game show! It was a rousing success. We met boys on the way back who hoisted Boppity Bear on their shoulders and ran around in glee.

"I needed this.... I'm going through a lot of transition in my life!" Said one of them after handing Boppity Bear back over. And that is exactly what we do, my friends. We're here to remind adults of the unbridled fun and playfulness of childhood!

Speaking of unbridled fun and playfulness, next we ran into our good friend Steffy Sue, who played with us back in February at Bitter and Sweet at Brainwash Cafe! This photo is courtesy of her. : ) Everyone on the bus was extremely excited to see Boppity Bear, and all in all it was a night filled with hot pink and purple and magic and trickery and good vibes! It is Pride celebration in San Francisco, after all....

I heard more people than usual making comments like "You're so lucky to have a gigantic bear!" Or "Did you win that?" Yes on both counts. I DO feel pretty lucky that I've been divinely chosen for this path of magic and color and absurdity. I still remember way back when, in what seemed like a totally, TOTALLY random instance, starting a blog called "The Great Bamboozle Boppity Bear." I had no idea what I was even talking about. But the blog consisted mostly of surrealist poetry and vivid imagery, which I feel like my life is now starting to resemble. I mean, not only do I spend half the time running around the city in a jester hat with a bear, but the other day I walked through the suburbs behind Haight Ashbury at dawn carrying an armful of mannequin limbs.

But that is definitely a story for another time.

Anyway, I'm about to publish a new edition of The Bi-Monthly Bop, so read that to see all the shenanigans that are in store for the rest of June and July!

Much love to all of you who are reading this! And in the spirit of Pride.... remember to follow your own unique voice! Follow your crazy, individual, beat of another drummer, BLISS! Otherwise that magic that lives inside of you will never be expressed for the world to see. And that, my friends, would be a damn shame.

Love and Funness, Liz O & Boppity Bear
